Welcome to Kristiansand!

The Nordic Foundation Conference will be held in 2023 in Kristiansand.

On November 8-10, over 200 participants from foundations across the Nordic region will meet.

Kristiansand is a city with 116,000 inhabitants and is Norway's sixth largest city by population. The city is named after King Christian IV, who founded the city of Christianssand in 1641. In 1877, the spelling was changed to Kristiansand. Kristiansand is a bustling student city where the university has over 14,000 students.

Conference venues

The center of Kristiansand is a compact quadrature, and the conference venues are within walking distance of each other.

Main arena

The main conference area is the STUP/Hotel Norge venue.
The address is: Dronningensgate 5, 4610 Kristiansand.

Wednesday evening, November 8, is the informal mingle party at Kraftverk, which has the address: Skippergata 24 b, 4611 Kristiansand

Thursday morning, November 9, everyone meets at STUP/Hotel Norge. Registration from 08:00 on the first floor.

After lunch, everyone walks to their chosen siding, accompanied by a guide. The venues are Kraftverk and Hotel Norge.

After Sidespor, everyone meets at STUP/Hotel Norge, before we walk together to Kunstsilo, and then to Christiansholm Fortress.

On Friday morning, November 10, everyone meets again at STUP/Hotel Norge, where the entire program takes place on the final day of the conference.

Travel to and from Kristiansand

Arrival/departure by train

The train station and bus terminal in Kristiansand is located 500 meters from the two conference hotels.

Arrival/departure by air

If you arrive by plane, you will land at Kjevik airport, which is located just outside Kristiansand. By car/taxi it takes 19 minutes to the city center. It is also possible to take an airport bus. You can find the bus timetable here.

Arrival/departure by boat

It is possible to arrive in Kristiansand by Color Line and Fjordline from Hirtshals, and it is only 500 meters from the two conference hotels.

Remember warm clothes and good shoes!

As the weather in Kristiansand can be rough in November, it is a good idea to bring/wear warm clothes. Also remember good shoes, as we will be walking between the different arenas.

NOK 1395,- for standard and superior rooms

NOK 1645,- for business room

NOK 1695,- for family room

Prices are per room per night, and of course include breakfast buffet.

Prices are for one person, and a supplement of 200,- for an extra person in the room.
There are rooms in all categories, but it is first come, first served to get the cheapest rooms.
